The best months are October to April, when the weather is drier and skies are often clear; March to May adds warm days (around 22–28°C) for swimming and kayaking. May to September is hot and humid, with the lowest cruise prices of the year, but it is also storm season: if a storm is forecast, the port authority can stop all sailings, so keep a spare day in your plans.
