Larissa Cruise is the newest ship from the team behind Renea Cruises. It joins the top Bai Tu Long Bay cruises and competes with the Halong Bay luxury cruises on cabin size, while spending the night away from the busiest anchorages of Halong Bay. The pictures of the ship on this page are the operator’s design renderings; we will add photos taken on board after the first sailings.
What Makes Larissa Cruise Different
Larissa Cruise combines large balcony cabins with more shared facilities than most ships of its size: a pool, a jacuzzi, a spa, a gym and a rooftop bar for at most 66 guests.
A balcony or private terrace for every cabin
All 28 cabins open onto the bay. The Deluxe Ocean Balcony and Executive Ocean Balcony cabins measure 32–36 m² and have both a bathtub and a standing shower. The two Larissa Panorama Jacuzzi Suites (42 m²) add a private terrace with its own jacuzzi and sunbeds, an ocean-view bathtub, a 30-minute foot massage and a bottle of wine.
Pool, jacuzzi and a sky bar on a 66-guest ship
The swimming pool sits at the stern of the first deck, next to reception, and a shared outdoor jacuzzi faces forward on the second deck. The spa, gym and kids area share the third deck with the restaurant, and the top deck holds the sundeck and the Tropical Lounge bar, where the sunset party is held. An elevator runs from the first to the third deck.

The quieter Bai Tu Long Bay route
From the port in Bai Chay the ship heads east past Cong Do into Bai Tu Long Bay, the bay next to Halong Bay that sees far fewer boats. Guests kayak and swim at Cap La Island in the afternoon, and visit Thien Canh Son Cave before breakfast on the last morning.
Who Larissa Cruise Is Best For
Book it if you are
- A couple or honeymooners – balcony cabins with a bathtub, or a Panorama Suite with a private jacuzzi on the terrace.
- A family – triple cabins and six pairs of connecting cabins; one child under 5 per cabin travels free when sharing with parents.
- Looking for fewer boats – Bai Tu Long Bay is calmer than the main Halong Bay anchorages.
- Keen on a pool on board – the pool and the jacuzzi are both included in the fare.
Choose another cruise if you want
- Certified halal food – the ship is not halal-certified; compare our halal-certified Halong Bay cruises.
- The classic Halong Bay sights such as Sung Sot Cave and Ti Top Island – browse other luxury cruises in Halong Bay.
- A ship with a long record of guest reviews – Larissa Cruise starts sailing in October 2026.
Larissa Cruise Itinerary
2 Days 1 Night
Day 1: arrive at the Halong International Cruise Port office by 11:30, take the tender to the ship, and board at about 12:30 for a welcome drink and briefing. A buffet lunch is served as the ship cruises into Bai Tu Long Bay, then from 15:00 to 17:00 you kayak or swim at Cap La Island (a tender tour is offered if you prefer not to paddle). The evening brings a sunset party with a cooking demonstration, dinner on the top deck and squid fishing. Day 1 follows the 2-day programme. Day 2: after Tai Chi and a buffet breakfast, a day boat takes you to Vung Vieng fishing village for a bamboo-boat ride, then on through the Cong Dam area to Thay Cave, where you walk through the cave to a small beach for a swim. Lunch is on the day boat, and you are back on the ship by early afternoon for more kayaking or time on the sundeck before dinner. Local Expert Notes from Our Hanoi Team
These tips come from more than a decade of arranging Halong Bay trips for international travellers; ship details are checked against the operator’s factsheet, deck plan and 2026–2027 contract rates.
- The Executive Ocean Balcony costs only a little more than the Deluxe Ocean Balcony but sits one deck higher, with a wider balcony and a more open view.
- The two Deluxe Balcony Partial View cabins are the cheapest on board, but the balcony view is partly blocked and the bathroom has a shower only.
- Dinner on the first night is on the top deck, so bring a light jacket between November and March.
- Wi-Fi works in the public areas only and is weak among the islands. Bring your passport for check-in at the port.
