What Makes Rita Cruise Different

Lan Ha Bay instead of the busiest route

After lunch Rita Cruise leaves the crowded Halong Bay lanes for Lan Ha Bay near Cat Ba Island, passing Con Vit (Duck) Islet and Thumb Islet before a bamboo-boat trip through Dark and Bright Caves. The second morning cruises past the Frog Pond area, where scenes of Kong: Skull Island were filmed.

Resort facilities on board

The top deck has a swimming pool, outdoor jacuzzi and mini golf green, and the 5th deck has the Sky Bar and a private karaoke room. There is also a gym on the 3rd deck, the Mimosa Café lounge, a library and a gift shop.

Suites for families and groups

Seventeen of the 34 cabins are triples, and Family Connecting suites link two cabins for four or five guests. At the top end, the two 85–88 m² Presidential Suites have a moon bed, jacuzzi bathtub, massage chair and a private terrace with sun loungers and a putting green.

Rita Cruise vs Similar Lan Ha Bay Cruises

Cruise Route Cabins Signature Budget
Rita Cruise Halong–Lan Ha 34 Pool, mini golf, Presidential terrace Value
Aqua Luxury Halong–Lan Ha 32 Elevator, balcony and bathtub in every suite Value
Diana Cruise Halong–Lan Ha 56 Halal-certified kitchen Mid-range
Alisa Premier Halong Bay 22 Sister ship on the classic route Value

Our view: Rita Cruise gives Lan Ha Bay, a real pool and plenty of triple and family cabins at a value price. Choose Aqua Luxury for a newer ship with an elevator, or Alisa Premier if you prefer Sung Sot Cave and Ti Top Island.

Not to be confused with

Alisa Premier Cruise is the smaller 22-cabin sister ship from the same company, sailing from the same dock on the classic Halong Bay route. Older listings also mention “Alisa Cruise”, a separate ship.

Local Expert Notes from Our Hanoi Team

These tips come from more than a decade of arranging Halong Bay trips for international travellers; ship details are checked against Alisa Hospitality Group’s 2026 information and the Rita Cruise website.

  • The two Standard Cabins have no balcony; pay a little more for a Senior Balcony Suite if a balcony matters
  • Junior Suites sit near the engine room, so light sleepers should choose a Senior cabin
  • Bring swimwear for the pool and the 3-day beach stop
  • Upper-deck cabins cost US$10 per guest extra
