Facilities & Deck Plan
Every corner of Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise is designed to tell a story, from the pool deck to the onboard art gallery. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the ship, an English-speaking cruise director, and a compact but rich set of facilities across four decks.
Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise at a Glance
The ship’s classic profile, dark timber trim and warm brass details set it apart from most modern cruise ships in Halong Bay, giving it the look of a restored 1930s steamer rather than a contemporary vessel.

Sundeck, Swimming Pool & Bow Lounge
La Piscine, the outdoor swimming pool, anchors the sundeck alongside rattan loungers and a shaded pool bar area. At the opposite end of the ship, the bow deck offers a quieter lounge with unobstructed views over Lan Ha Bay’s limestone karsts.

Evening Lounges & the Bach Dang Wine Cellar
After dark, the Brezzy Outdoor Lounge turns into a candlelit cocktail spot beneath a wooden pergola, while the Bach Dang Wine Cellar keeps a curated selection of wines and spirits on display for guests who want a nightcap with a view.

L’Art de l’Annam Gallery & Song Hong Lounge
L’Art de l’Annam, the ship’s art gallery corridor, displays a rotating collection of Vietnamese paintings, while the Song Hong Lounge offers live piano music, board games and a quiet reading corner styled after Bach Thai Buoi’s own private study.

Wellness: Fitness Center & White Lotus Spa
A modern fitness center keeps up guests’ workout routines at sea, while White Lotus Spa offers massage and beauty treatments in a calm treatment room with bay views – a welcome pause between shore excursions.

Cabins & Comfort
Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise is an all-suite ship – every one of its 20 cabins is a suite, each with a private balcony, full ocean view, and an ensuite bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower.
Delta & Ocean Suites
The 6 Delta Suites sit on the 1st deck at 33 sqm each, furnished with ornate local furniture and original art paintings for an authentic French Indochine feel. One deck up, the 10 Ocean Suites share the same 33 sqm footprint with a brighter, more delicate design and sumptuous bedding. Both categories sleep up to 2 guests in a double or twin bed configuration.

Captain & Regal Suites
On the main deck, the 2 Captain Suites step up to 38 sqm with noted furnishings, prioritized service and a large private balcony. The 2 Regal Suites, on the 2nd deck, are the ship’s most spacious cabins at 46 sqm and can connect with an adjoining Ocean Suite for 79 sqm of combined space – an optimal choice for honeymoon couples or small families traveling together.

Itineraries & Activities
Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise runs three set itineraries – 2 Days 1 Night, 3 Days 2 Nights and 4 Days 3 Nights – all departing from Tuan Chau Marina and exploring Lan Ha Bay and the Cat Ba Archipelago.
On the 2D1N itinerary, guests embark at the Heritage Lounge (No. 28, Tuan Chau Marina) around midday, enjoy a welcome drink and cabin check-in, then have lunch at L’Indochine Restaurant while the ship sails toward Lan Ha Bay. The afternoon is spent at Ba Trai Dao (Three Peaches) or Tra Bau, with kayaking and swimming in the bay’s clear water for around 90 minutes.
Sunset Cocktails at La Piscine Pool
As the ship returns from the afternoon activities, guests can watch the sunset from the sundeck with a cocktail in hand, join an afternoon tea and Vietnamese cooking class with the onboard chef, or enjoy Happy Hour from 17:00 to 19:00 by La Piscine pool before a royal-themed dinner at Le Tonkin Restaurant and a round of squid fishing after dark.

Sunrise Vovinam & Poolside Mornings
Day 2 opens with a Vovinam (Vietnamese martial arts) training session on the sundeck, followed by breakfast – including an optional luxury breakfast served poolside on the 3rd floor for small groups. The morning continues with a bamboo boat tour into Dark & Bright Cave before guests pack up, enjoy brunch, and disembark back at Tuan Chau Port around 10:30–11:30.

The longer 3 Days 2 Nights itinerary adds a full day exploring Cat Ba Island and Viet Hai Village, a quiet fishing hamlet inside Cat Ba National Park, before returning through Tra Bau and Ba Trai Dao and disembarking via Dark & Bright Cave and Tuan Chau Pier. The 4 Days 3 Nights itinerary extends the discovery time in Lan Ha Bay even further for guests who want the most immersive experience on Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise.
Dining & Culinary Experience
All meals on Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise are included in the cruise fare, served across two restaurants that echo the ship’s 1930s Indochine theme. Le Tonkin Restaurant, on the 1st deck, hosts fine-dining dinners with local Vietnamese cuisine served in a royal-themed setting, while L’Indochine Restaurant on the 3rd deck serves breakfast and lunch with panoramic Lan Ha Bay views through its large windows.

Beyond set meals, guests can join a Vietnamese cooking class and tea or cocktail demonstration in the afternoon, browse the Bach Dang Wine Cellar for a bottle to pair with dinner, or unwind with a drink at the Pool Bar or Brezzy Outdoor Lounge as the sun sets over the bay.
Transportation from Hanoi
Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise offers a Limousine D’car shuttle bus between Hanoi and Tuan Chau Marina, priced at roughly $38 per adult round trip. Pick-up points are at guests’ hotels in Hanoi Old Quarter or in front of the Hanoi Opera House, with the transfer booked separately from the cruise fare in the next booking step.

No, Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise is not the same company as Heritage Line. Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise is operated by Lux Cruises Group and sails Lan Ha Bay and the Cat Ba Archipelago, while Heritage Line is a separate operator known for ships such as Ylang and Jahan. The similar names occasionally cause confusion, so always confirm the operator name before booking.
Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise offers three set itineraries in Lan Ha Bay: 2 Days 1 Night, 3 Days 2 Nights, and 4 Days 3 Nights, all departing from Tuan Chau International Marina. The 2D1N trip covers Ba Trai Dao or Tra Bau and Dark & Bright Cave, while the longer itineraries add a full day at Cat Ba Island and Viet Hai Village.
Yes, Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise is offered with a Best Price Guarantee when booked directly through Halong Tour Expert. If you find a lower publicly available rate for the same cabin and itinerary, contact our team and we will match or beat it, so you always get the best value for your Lan Ha Bay cruise.
If a cruise is cancelled due to bad weather as announced by the Halong Bay Management Board, Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise applies a pro-rated refund: a full refund if no services have been used yet, or a partial refund for services already used (transfers, meals, accommodation) if the cancellation happens mid-trip. This weather policy applies to all cruises departing from Halong Bay, not only Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise.
Yes, Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise is a popular choice for honeymoons in Lan Ha Bay. The Regal Suite, the ship’s most spacious cabin at 46 sqm, can connect with an adjoining Ocean Suite for 79 sqm of combined space, and couples can enjoy sunset cocktails on the sundeck, a candlelit dinner at Le Tonkin Restaurant, and a private balcony overlooking the bay.
The Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise fare includes a welcome drink, speedboat transfer, all meals, a Vovinam martial arts session, cooking and cocktail demonstrations, use of the gym, swimming pool and library, kayaking, bamboo boating and squid fishing, English-speaking cruise director service, free Wi-Fi, and all sightseeing tickets. Hanoi pick-up, drop-off and personal expenses are charged separately.
One night can work for a quick taste of Lan Ha Bay, but most travelers find 2 nights or more gives enough time to properly explore the bay’s caves, islands and activities without feeling rushed. Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise offers 2 Days 1 Night, 3 Days 2 Nights and 4 Days 3 Nights options, so you can choose the pace that suits your trip.
All three bays share the same limestone karst scenery, but Halong Bay proper tends to be the busiest, while Lan Ha Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay are quieter with clearer water. If you want a calmer, less crowded cruise, Lan Ha Bay is a strong choice — Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise sails this exact route from Tuan Chau Marina.
The best time to cruise Lan Ha Bay is generally from September to April, when the weather is cooler and drier. Summer months bring more rain and occasional storms, though the bay’s scenery still looks stunning. Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise operates year-round, so guests can also enjoy summer sailings with proper planning around the weather.
Yes, storms and typhoons can occasionally affect cruises in Lan Ha Bay and the wider Halong Bay area, mostly between July and October. When the Halong Bay Management Board announces a cancellation for safety reasons, cruises including Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise apply a pro-rated refund policy based on services already used.
Yes, a Lan Ha Bay cruise is generally suitable for children, with most ships offering family-friendly activities such as kayaking and swimming. Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise welcomes children with a free spot for 1 child under 5 sharing with parents, discounted rates for children aged 5 to 11, and connecting Regal and Ocean Suites for families needing extra space.
Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise is a Lan Ha Bay cruise with a dedicated onboard art gallery, L’Art de l’Annam, displaying a rotating collection of Vietnamese paintings, plus the Bach Dang Wine Cellar stocked with a curated wine selection — a rare combination of cultural spaces not found on most cruise ships in the bay.
Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise offers a sunrise Vovinam (Vietnamese martial arts) training session on the sundeck as part of its included activities, a signature cultural experience that sets it apart from most cruises in Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay.
Yes, most Lan Ha Bay cruises can accommodate special dietary requests such as vegetarian, vegan or allergy-friendly meals if notified in advance. On Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise, we recommend sending your dietary requirements at least a few days before departure so the onboard chef can prepare accordingly.
Some Lan Ha Bay cruises offer a limousine shuttle bus transfer from Hanoi as an add-on rather than a default inclusion. Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise offers a Limousine D’car shuttle bus between Hanoi Old Quarter or the Hanoi Opera House and Tuan Chau Marina, booked separately from the cruise fare for around $38 per adult round trip.
Most international visitors to Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay, Vietnam need either a visa exemption (available to citizens of a number of countries for a limited number of days) or an e-visa, which most nationalities can apply for online before arrival. Requirements change from time to time, so we recommend checking Vietnam’s official immigration site or your nearest Vietnamese embassy before booking Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise or any other Halong Bay cruise.
Heritage Binh Chuan Cruise is the Lan Ha Bay cruise ship designed around a 1930s Indochine aesthetic, honoring Bach Thai Buoi, the early-20th-century Vietnamese shipping entrepreneur known as the “King of Boats,” and named after his original steamship, Binh Chuan.
